You Geaux Girl Summit

Last month, we attended the invite-only You Geaux Girl Summit hosted by one of our beautiful sponsors, Geaux Girl Giving. GGG is a community-based, philanthropic fund based in New Orleans. They exist to ensure that Black women-led organizations are abundantly resourced and supported.

At the summit, we attended wonderful workshops, heard from various speakers, ate, rejoiced, and networked to the “T” with so many amazing women founders, granters, experts, and philanthropists. We are grateful for another opportunity to grace the room!

We had a baby!

Well, not us, of course. One of our moms in Amite, LA gave birth to a handsome baby boy with a full head of hair! Because of YOU, we were able to surprise her with a few items including a diaper warmer (not pictured, but definitely one of my fav mom hacks!) Welcome to MommyHood to her and every other new mom.

Voices Impacted: A Conversation on Women’s Incarceration

We’re so proud of Nailah for sitting on a panel as an expert on the impact of incarceration. This panel was curated by the Thurman Perry Foundation as part of its inaugural Mother’s Day 365 Jazz Luncheon. The Thurman Perry Foundation is an award-winning, Louisiana-based nonprofit operating nationally with a mission of offering scholarships, essential healthcare resources, and housing relief to at least 10,000 women and girls impacted by incarceration by 2030. This luncheon brought much-needed attention to the way society treats such an often disregarded population.

The time has come…

It is almost time for our Mother’s Day Brunch. The theme of our brunch is “Rediscovering the Woman Within”. So often, mothers are so consumed by everything and everyone else that they neglect themselves and their inner child. This day is full of education, empowerment, and pampering to remind our guests that before they became mothers, they were women and they deserve the love they give out on a daily basis. We have had such an unbelievable outpouring of support from our community in making this brunch a reality (and dare we say, success). Thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, and guest. We appreciate you!

If you missed registration the first time around, don’t worry! We have 3 extra tickets for the taking. Make sure you register and pull up to spend some time with us this Saturday. We can’t wait to see you.
