It’s Back-to-School Time!! Are you ready?

Whether it’s you going back to school, baby(ies), or BOTH, on behalf of The Mommy Dearest Foundation, we pray for God’s grace and anointing over your household. No matter how hard times get, there is nothing like having an education and offering your family better opportunities and resources beyond what you’ve learned or experienced. Be safe and Happy Shopping!

Firstly, we would like to thank all of our supporters for liking, sharing, and reposting our Moms Helping Moms flyer. Our post received lots of attention and because of you, we were able to gift a young mom of 3 kids with free clothes, diapers, wipes, and a double stroller. Your giving spirit and selfless heart are what make it possible for us to bless our moms!

Secondly, last month we were able to attend the Birth Fair in Covington, Louisiana hosted by Northshore Birth Options. This event was full of resources for mothers and it was an honor to be among so many birth workers including doulas and family photographers. Be on the lookout for a list of who we met and what services they offer.

A Special Letter from Our VP

Welcome! To the first-time mothers. Hello again to the courageous ladies who have embraced the gift of motherhood again. I commend both first-time mothers and experienced mothers for surrendering to the process of nurturing another human. Welcome to the lifelong journey of motherhood.

As a mother, you are part of the largest yet underrated group in the world. Your assignment to serve the special being (s) entrusted to you is a privilege. Yet, it is a job of constant sowing. You will experience many joyful moments and some sorrow. At times you will have to persevere despite the tension of a myriad of emotions.  For instance, you may encounter feeling inadequate and uncertain while feeling comforted by your child's/children's presence. I encourage you to connect with other mothers and build a healthy support system as you embark on your journey. Motherhood is not to be done in isolation.

As a mother of four and a grandmother of one, I have made many mistakes. However, I have found honesty and humility are two powerful tools that strengthen familial bonds. What I know for sure is,  mothers are called to teach their child/children how to think and not what think. I have learned mothers are designated to create an atmosphere in the home of love and acceptance that teaches our most prized gifts- our child/children to show love and respect to everyone.

Mother, you are your child’s/children’s first point of contact with the world. As you exhibit love, life, and light, your child/children will model your behavior. Be patient with yourself and with your beloved child/children. Extend much grace and forgive quickly. Mothers sow good seeds into the hearts, minds, and spirits of your child/children. You will watch them blossom into well-rounded adults.
