When I think about the moms we help, I can’t help but think back to my own pregnancy. There were moments I felt so low…times when depression tried to convince me that I was alone. Whenever someone showed up for me, that changed my entire mood. That’s the same feeling I want every mom to experience when she receives help from TMDF. I want her to know that she is seen, loved, and is not walking this road alone. I hold this same sentiment for mothers near and far alike. Just recently, I received an email that was so precious I knew I had to share it with all of you. Natoshi Dubose from Sacramento, CA, is currently a single mother, full-time doctoral student, and courageous survivor of multiple hardships. Natoshi’s journey has been marked by resilience in the face of homelessness, vehicle instability, job loss, and the devastating loss of her mother, all while raising two children and maintaining a 3.77 GPA in her doctoral program. She shared her story not just to ask for help, but to hold onto the hope that someone might see her determination and step in to help her rebuild. What she needs is not charity, but stability: a reliable vehicle to earn an income, a safe home for her children, and support to finish her education so she can achieve her dream of relaunching her late mother’s nonprofit and becoming a voice of healing and hope for others.
