2024 in a Newsletter :)

We hope your 2024 has been as amazing and enjoyable as possible. We pray that every blessing and triumph outweighed every loss and sorrow. Thank you all for your love and support. We love every one of you, and we can’t let 2024 go without sharing a few highlights of our year!

We Hosted our First in-person Event

With this amazing community’s support, we hosted our first in-person event on May 4, 2024, dedicated to the lovely mothers we serve with Blooming Butterflies, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to become a program that will provide every young woman with the knowledge and tools to choose a path that will result in healthy lifestyles for them and their families. We ate good food, drank bomb mimosas, listened to incredible speakers, let our babies play outside, interacted with real-life/mom situations, mingled, and received many resources. Thanks to you, every mom left with a goodie bag!

We Received an Outpour of Donations from Ayanna Gross Jackson and the Mt. Vernon & Mt. Pleasant Dorcas Ministry

Thank you to Ms. Ayanna for always supporting us monetarily and in-kindly. Your donations have made such a huge difference in the lives of all our moms and their babies.

Nailah Spoke at the Ponchatoula Kiwanis Club and Received a Donation on TMDF’s behalf

Thank you Martha Ray, Stacey Barker, Traci Simmons, and the entire Kiwanis Club for allowing Nailah to share our story with you all this year. Your generous donation was able to help fully fund 2 New Baby Bundles!

We Hosted a Diaper Drive During the National Diaper Needs Awareness Week

Thanks to our grant from Weyerhaeuser, we were able to support over 100 mothers with diapers and a Pampers care pouch (donated by Ayanna Jackson) for their babies. The National Diapers Needs Awareness Week is an event that brings attention to the issue of diaper needs in the United States. This year, the week took place from September 23-29. Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative! We are truly grateful.

Nailah Wrote & Directed a Short Film, β€œMommy Dearest”

Mommy Dearest is a powerful short film that explores the emotional journey of a young mom experiencing postpartum depression whose mother is incarcerated and boyfriend is in another state pursuing his career. Mommy Dearest sheds light on themes of love, resilience, and the longing for connection, illustrating the deep bond that endures despite the physical distance between them.
